Ukrainian low-cost carrier SkyUp Airlines has received permission to operate into the United States of America under an FAR129 foreign air carrier certificate.

This acquisition of the FAR129 foreign air carrier certificate opens up new horizons for the airline and heralds a new era in its international network expansion.

A Proud Moment for SkyUp Airlines

Dmytro Seroukhov, the General Director of SkyUp Airlines, expressed his satisfaction at this development, stating, “An important goal for the international development of the brand has been achieved.”

“I am proud of the team, their professional approach, and their persistence in achieving results. Also, on behalf of the company, I express my sincere gratitude to the competent state structures of the United States for their trust and the opportunity to work in the United States.”

The Aircraft Cleared for US Skies

Four Boeing 737-800 aircraft in SkyUp Airlines’ fleet, which were included in the application for this endeavor, have received clearance for operations in the United States.

These aircraft, bearing the registrations UR-SQB, UR-SQC, UR-SQF, and UR-SQP, are now ready for commercial operations in US airspace.

Regulatory Approvals and Compliance

As part of the certification process, SkyUp Airlines has obtained several crucial approvals that are essential for its operation within the United States. These approvals include:

DOT Approval

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has granted SkyUp Airlines the necessary approval to conduct business as an air carrier on US soil.

TSA Approval

Ensuring the security of air transportation is of paramount importance, and SkyUp Airlines has demonstrated its commitment to this by obtaining approval from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

This approval signifies that the airline complies with aviation security requirements for air transportation to and from the United States.

FAA Approval

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval, specifically under Part 129 Operations Specifications, is a critical milestone for any airline operating internationally.

SkyUp Airlines has met the FAA’s stringent requirements, further solidifying its position as a trusted and reliable air carrier.

Future Plans: ACMI Services and Charter Flights

With its newfound presence in the US market, SkyUp Airlines is not resting on its laurels.

The airline has ambitious plans for the future, which include the development of Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) services and expanding its charter flight operations.

These initiatives are poised to bring even more convenience and choices to travelers both in Ukraine and the United States.
