Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has this week revealed that they handled 2.2m passengers during October 2023, which represents a significant increase.

The carrier has been making waves and heading towards strong growth following it’s upcoming exit from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

SAS carried 2.2m passengers in October 2023, which is an increase of 14% compared to the same period last year.

Capacity at the carrier has also increased by 15%, with the load factor being 76% for that period. Below is their provided full breakdown:

Commenting on the results was Anko van der Werff, the President of SAS:

“Healthy demand for travel continued in October, with 2.2 million passengers traveling with SAS.”

“But the even bigger and more important news is that we have reached a key milestone in our SAS FORWARD plan by entering into an investment agreement with the winning bidder consortium of SAS’ exit financing solicitation process.”

“The investment shows that our new investors believe in [the airline] and our potential to remain at the forefront of the airline industry for years to come”.

All eyes will be on the carrier’s recovery and subsequent growth in the short-term, with all eyes on how the rest of the Winter season will perform for them.
