Ryanair: Manchester to Reggio Calabria

Later this month, low-cost carrier Ryanair is set to start Manchester to Reggio Calabria services in southwest Italy.

This article will cover the details surrounding Ryanair’s operations between Manchester and Reggio Calabria.

Commencing from April 28, 2024, Ryanair will commence services between Manchester Airport (MAN) and Reggio Calabria Airport (REG).

The flight will be operated twice per week on Wednesdays and Sundays. This will be using likely a mix of Boeing 737-800s and Boeing 737 MAX 8 200s.

The carrier’s Boeing 737-800s have a configuration of 189 seats. And their MAX 8 200s have a configuration of 197 seats. Ryanair currently operates a fleet of 410 Boeing 737-800s, 147 Boeing 737 MAX 8 200s, and 27 Airbus A320s.

With the opening of this new route, it will be the UK’s first and only direct service to Reggio Calabria.

It is also one of three new routes that the low-cost carrier is adding to its Manchester schedule this summer. Sitting alongside Dubrovnik in Croatia and Tangier in Morocco.

Commenting on the new route to Italy, Manchester Airport’s Chief Commercial Officer, Stephen Turner, says, “We are proud to connect people in the North with an outstanding range of destinations, with over 200 routes served by more than 50 airlines. Ryanair’s new service to Reggio Calabria is an exciting one because it’s a brand-new destination for us.”

“It isn’t currently served by any other UK airport, either, so it gives our passengers even more choice. Visitors travelling to Calabria this summer will love the blend of culture, cuisine and spectacular beaches that it provides, so we’re confident that this new route will be popular with our passengers.”

Adding to Turner’s comments, Ryanair’s Head of Communications, Jade Kirwan, says, “Ryanair is delighted to officially launch our new Manchester – Reggio route for Summer ’24, with the first flight taking off from Manchester Airport on Sunday 28th April.”

“Reggio is just one of three new Ryanair routes at Manchester Airport this Summer, adding to our new Dubrovnik and Tangier services which commenced earlier this month and have been performing phenomenally well.”
