Ryanair celebrates 15 years in Bournemouth

Ryanair has commemorated the 15-year anniversary of operations at its Bournemouth base this week. As the first low-cost carrier to operate at Bournemouth Airport, Ryanair has played a significant role in shaping the region’s aviation landscape.

Since its inaugural flight from Dublin Airport in 1996, the airline has experienced tremendous growth and now serves over 776,000 passengers annually to and from Bournemouth Airport.

Ryanair’s Summer ’23 schedule at Bournemouth promises to be its most extensive yet, bringing more choices and destinations for travelers.

With a $200 million investment, the airline will station two aircraft at the airport, enabling the operation of 18 routes, including three new additions: Carcassonne, Edinburgh, and Venice.

Passengers can expect over 120 flights per week, reflecting a remarkable 28% growth compared to the previous season. This expansion also translates to substantial support for the local economy, contributing to the employment of over 640 individuals.

The airline’s robust schedule will feature more than 120 weekly flights across 18 routes, offering new sunshine destinations like Carcassonne and Venice.
