This latest fleet addition, a Boeing 737-800, registered 9XR-WY, is poised to be stationed at the carrier’s principal Kigali hub.

With a comprehensive network encompassing Africa and the Middle East, this new aircraft is set to facilitate the progression of RwandAir’s regional operations, cementing the airline’s commitment to delivering unparalleled connectivity and expeditious transfers via the increasingly busy hub of Kigali.

Passengers will have the choice to book both Economy and Business classes with the aircraft equipped with 12 plush Business Class seats and 144 Economy Class seats.

This fleet augmentation will boost the Rwandan flag carrier’s total fleet count to 14, comprising a combination of three A330s, seven B737s, two CRJ900s, and two Q400s, reinforcing its position as an increasingly formidable force in the African aviation landscape.

Yvonne Makolo, the esteemed CEO of RwandAir, expressed her jubilation over this latest development,

She said: “The introduction of our seventh Boeing aircraft is another major milestone for us, and I would like to thank everyone who has helped make this possible”.

The CEO went on to say: “We have been expanding our fleet over the past year and look forward to accelerating this growth to offer customers even better service and connectivity across Africa and beyond.”

In a noteworthy milestone last November, RwandAir further diversified its operations with the procurement of its maiden dedicated freighter aircraft, the Boeing 737-800SF, registration 9XR-WW, underlining the escalating significance of cargo operations in Rwanda and the wider aviation industry.

Renowned for its commendable on-time performance, top-notch customer service, and unwavering commitment to safety, RwandAir operates from its pivotal hub situated at the bustling Kigali International Airport.

The flag carrier has gained acclaim for its increasingly extensive flight operations, serving a diverse array of destinations spanning East, Central, West, and Southern Africa, in addition to the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.

This strategic reach exemplifies the airline’s dedication to facilitating seamless travel experiences for passengers across Africa and the wider globe.
