Ahead of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix later this year, Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of flights to the city of Birmingham and Birmingham Int’l Airport (BHX).
The flights are due to resume on July 6, and will see a daily frequency throughout the summer season.
Qatar Airways will operate the route with their Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner aircraft and the first flight will land just three days prior to the British Grand Prix which starts on July 9. The route comes at an opportune time for potential British Grand Prix spectators.
The Return
Announced by Qatar Airways on April 12, the airline will resume flights to the British city of Birmingham just in time for the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
The flight resumption will provide an opportunity for Middle Eastern and Doha residents to attend the Grand Prix.
The route will be operated by Qatar Airways’ Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which features a two-class configuration of 22 Business Class seats and 232 Economy Class seats.
The flights will commence on July 6, with an early morning departure of QR33 from Doha to Birmingham departing 08:05 local on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, whilst the return with flight QR34 will depart Birmingham at 14:45 local on the same days.
For the remaining days, flight QR35 and QR36 will offer an 02:20 local time departure from Doha and return from Birmingham at 09.00 local time.
Additionally, Qatar Airways Holidays will also offer a one-of-a-kind travel package which includes flights, hotel, premium seats at the race, gourmet hospitality, Pit Lane Walk and an exclusive event with Formula 1 legends or drivers current.

Qatar Airways and Formula 1
During the Motorsport Festival in Doha, Qatar earlier this year, the recently voted Airline of the Year, Qatar Airways, announced a new partnership with the racing league Formula One.
This effectively makes Qatar Airways the official Global Airline Partner of Formula One, on a multi-year partnership.
The new partnership will include Qatar Airways sponsoring three Formula 1 Grand Prix throughout the year, and the Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix will be making its return in October.
Events will also include the Qatar Airways Gran Premio del Made in Italy e dell’Emilia-Romagna, and the Formula 1 Qatar Airways Hungarian Grand Prix.
The deal also includes trackside along with digital branding, to be showcased to Formula One’s audience during races.

Qatar Airways is definitely choosing the right time for a return to Birmingham, as it keeps close to the racing circuit of where the Grand Prix will be held, and benefits the spectators of the world who would like to watch the race in action.
