This week has seen Qatar Airways Cargo launch services to Warsaw in Poland, as demand for freight continues to grow for the carrier.

Such a service will operate on a once-weekly basis, and will increase cargo capacity by more than 200 tonnes per week to the Polish capital.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

Commenting on this route launch to Warsaw, which included a customer welcome event on arrival into the airport was Elisabeth Oudkerk, the SVP of Cargo Sales & Planning at Qatar Airways’ other wing of the airline:

“[The airline] has been serving Eastern Europe for many years and is very pleased to announce freighters to Warsaw which will complement the passenger flights to this important city.”

“The launch of this service will provide consistent and reliable freighter operations between Poland and Qatar”.

On top of Warsaw, the Qatari carrier also operates services to the following Eastern Europe destinations:

  • Budapest
  • Prague
  • Bucharest
  • Zagreb
  • Belgrade
  • Sofia

Late last month, Qatar Airways Cargo celebrated their 20th anniversary, as well as utilising that milestone to grow further globally.

Another area of expansion was in its presence into China, with new belly hold flights to Chengdu and Chongqing, which began on September 23 and 25.

The Airbus A330-300 is being utilised for these routes, of which alongside the services to Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen & Zhengzhou, the carrier now offers a total of 2,700 tonnes each way.

But for now, things don’t stop at Warsaw for the carrier. We will no doubt see more announcements from them in due course.
