A new codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways will see Xiamen Airlines become the first Chinese airline to operate passenger nonstop flights between Mainland China and Qatar.
This new arrangement coincides with the 35th Anniversary Year of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Connecting China and Qatar
The recently announced collaboration not only opens up new travel possibilities but also strengthens the connections between two major players in the airline industry.
One of the standout features of this partnership is Xiamen Airlines becoming the first Chinese airline to operate passenger nonstop flights from Mainland China to Qatar. This achievement is noew set to make air travel between the two countries more accessible and convenient than ever before.
The core of this partnership lies in the launch of daily flights between Beijing’s Daxing International Airport and Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar.
These flights will be operated using the modern and state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 aircraft, ensuring passengers enjoy a comfortable and enjoyable journey.

Commencement of Operations
The much-anticipated flights are scheduled to commence on October 20, 2023. The inbound flights from Beijing will arrive in Doha at 22:45, while the outbound flights are scheduled to depart at 02:00.
This schedule has been carefully designed to provide passengers with optimal connections to key markets in Qatar Airways’ extensive global network beyond Doha, spanning across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
The expansion will continue across coming months. In addition to the Beijing flights, Xiamen Airlines will also introduce two weekly flights from Xiamen, a special economic zone in Fujian Sheng province, to Doha.
These flights, set to commence on October 31, 2023, will offer the same seamless connectivity to Qatar Airways’ network. Passengers can look forward to arriving in Doha from Xiamen at 05:00 and departing in the evening at 19:30, allowing for flexible travel arrangements.
Qatar Airways’ Growing Presence in China
This partnership marks a significant step for Qatar Airways, enhancing its presence in Mainland China, which currently includes six destinations with a total of 31 weekly flights operated by Qatar Airways.
Furthermore, Qatar Airways already offers double daily flights to Hong Kong, further solidifying its foothold in the region.
As part of this new agreement, Xiamen Airlines will place its marketing code on Qatar Airways flights to and from Beijing, offering travelers even more options and flexibility.

Aircraft Configurations
For the direct services from Beijing to Doha, Xiamen Airlines will deploy a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. This aircraft features a two-class configuration, accommodating a total of 287 passengers.
Among these, 30 seats are designated for Business class, providing a premium travel experience, while the remaining 257 seats are allocated for Economy class passengers.
The Xiamen-Doha-Xiamen service, on the other hand, will be operated by a Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
This aircraft offers a three-class configuration, with 4 seats in First class, 18 in Business class, and 215 in Economy class. Travelers can choose the class that suits their preferences and travel needs.
