Qantas Increases Tokyo Capacity

This week it has been announced that Qantas will be significantly increasing its capacity offering to Tokyo, Japan.

This article will cover the details surrounding Qantas’ increase in its long-haul services to Tokyo in Japan.

As per data from AeroRoutes, from November 2023, the Australian flag carrier, Qantas, will be significantly increasing its capacity to Tokyo from multiple Australian cities.

To start things off, Qantas will be increasing its service from Brisbane Airport (BNE) to Tokyo Narita International Airport (NRT) from three weekly to daily services from November 26. This service replaces their Tokyo Haneda route from Brisbane and will be operated by their Airbus A330-300s.

Flight QF061 will depart Brisbane at 09:20 a.m. and arrive in Tokyo Narita at 17:30 p.m. The return flight QF062 will depart Tokyo Narita at 19:30 p.m. and arrive back in Brisbane at 05:45 a.m. the following morning. All times stated are local.

The carrier will also be increasing its Melbourne Airport (MEL) to Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND) service from four weekly to daily services from November 27. This service will be operated by a mixture of Airbus A330-200s and Airbus A330-300s.

Flight QF079 will depart Melbourne at 09:25 a.m. and arrive in Tokyo Haneda at 17:40 p.m. The return flight QF080 will depart Tokyo Haneda at 19:20 p.m. and arrive back in Melbourne at 07:45 a.m. the following morning. All times stated are local.

Qantas will also be increasing their Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD) to Tokyo Haneda International Airport (HND) service from one to two daily, with the new flights QF059 and QF060 being operated by their Airbus A330-300 and the existing flights QF025 and QF026 will be switched from the Airbus A330-300 to their Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Flight QF059 will depart Sydney at 12:20 p.m. and arrive in Tokyo Haneda at 20:15 p.m. The return flight QF060 will depart Tokyo Haneda at 22:00 p.m. and arrive back in Sydney at 09:55 a.m. the following morning. All times stated are local.

Flight QF025 will depart Sydney at 21:45 p.m. and arrive in Tokyo Haneda at 05:25 a.m. the following morning. The return flight QF026 will depart Tokyo Haneda at 07:00 a.m. and arrive back in Sydney at 18:50 p.m. All times stated are local.
