Porter Airlines has opened a further route, inaugurating a non-stop service between Ottawa International Airport (YOW) and St. John’s International Airport (YYT).

This development makes Porter the sole airline connecting these two vibrant Canadian cities with direct flights.

The inaugural flight marks the beginning of daily service aboard the brand-new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.

Embraer E195 Operations Porter-style

This state-of-the-art plane boasts a spacious cabin comfortably seating up to 132 passengers. It features a luxurious two-by-two configuration with no middle seats. This makes the biggest dilemma for Porter passengers the delightful choice between a window or aisle seat!

Staying connected throughout your journey is a breeze with Porter’s complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi available on all E195-E2 flights.

To further elevate your travel experience, Porter offers complimentary premium snacks paired with free beer and wine. All beverages are served in stylish glassware – ensuring economy class truly feels like a treat.

For an extra touch of comfort, PorterReserve passengers enjoy the perks of priority boarding and additional legroom on every flight.

Additionally, longer routes cater to PorterReserve and à la carte-purchasing PorterClassic passengers with fresh, healthy meals.

Expanding Presence in Ottawa

Ottawa continues to hold a special place in Porter’s network. It serves as a hub offering convenient flights to over a dozen destinations across Canada and the United States.

These destinations include regional hubs like Fredericton and Thunder Bay. The major Western Canadian cities like Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Winnipeg are all supported.

Across the border, popular U.S. locations such as Orlando, Boston, and New York enjoy route coverage.

Porter’s commitment to Ottawa continues to flourish, with the airline anticipating as many as 35 daily departures by August. This becomes the most non-stop flights offered from Ottawa yet.

Further demonstrating its dedication to the region, Porter recently unveiled a brand-new, $110 million aircraft maintenance base. The new facility will mean the creation of over 400 jobs within Canada’s capital city.

Exploring the Enchantment of St. John’s

Awaiting travelers in St. John’s is a captivating blend of historical charm and modern attractions. This oceanside capital of Newfoundland is a popular destination for captivating whale watching tours.

A visit to the iconic Signal Hill is a must, experiencing the warmth of local hangouts, and immersing oneself in the city’s small-town allure.

The new route grants passengers in St. John’s the ease of connecting with three Eastern Canadian destinations via Porter’s non-stop service: Ottawa, Halifax, and Toronto.

This exciting development marks the second new Porter route to take off in Newfoundland this week, following the recent launch of Halifax – Deer Lake service.
