Porter Airlines has recently exercised purchase rights for 25 Embraer E195-E2 passenger jets. This latest procurement follows their initial order of 50 aircraft, further solidifying Porter’s narrowbody fleet.

Valued at an impressive US$2.1 billion, this deal not only marks a significant investment but also further positions Porter as a key player in the competitive regional aviation sector.

Fleet Expansion for the Launch Customer

Porter Airlines, recognized as the North American launch customer for Embraer’s E195-E2, has already integrated 24 of these cutting-edge jets into its operations.

With an eye on expansion, the airline is gearing up to venture into new horizons, reaching destinations across North America. This move is a testament to their dedication to delivering an award-winning experience to passengers.

Having been the subject of focus with their recent deliveries, Porter Airlines is not resting on its laurels with respect to its network portfolio.

The airline has announced plans to introduce flights to captivating destinations such as Las Vegas, Miami, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

Moreover, there are also exciting prospects in the pipeline for new routes connecting Mexico and the Caribbean.

Configuring for Comfort

Porter Airlines has chosen to configure the Embraer E195-E2 as a spacious 132-seat all-economy class. With a range of seat pitches, including 36, 34, and 30 inches, the airline prioritizes passenger comfort.

This customer-centric approach is a pivotal aspect of Porter’s strategy, ensuring that every traveler enjoys a comfortable journey.

Michael Deluce, President and CEO of Porter Airlines, expresses his enthusiasm about the game-changing E195-E2. Deluce notes, “At Porter, we entered a new era when we began operating the E195-E2 earlier this year.”

“The jet is exceeding our expectations, especially in terms of fuel burn, and delivering an incredible level of customer satisfaction to our passengers with a quiet, comfortable ride.”

“These additional 25 orders enable us to continue extending our reach throughout North America, with more exciting new destinations.”

Embraer’s Endorsement

Arjan Meijer, President and CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation, acknowledges Porter Airlines as an exciting disrupter in the North American market.

He emphasizes, “Choosing the E2 to deliver an upgraded service is a huge endorsement of the jet’s comfort and capabilities, and a further endorsement of the E2 – the world’s quietest and most fuel-efficient single-aisle aircraft.”
