Fort Lauderdale has become the latest Florida destination to be served by Canada’s Porter Airlines.

The airline recently broadened its Florida horizons, introducing flights from Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL).

Porter’s Economy Experience

Passengers embarking on these novel routes can anticipate a distinctive and enhanced economy experience from Porter Airlines.

Passengers can expect free inflight WiFi, ensuring they can remain in touch with their loved ones or handle business matters seamlessly from takeoff to landing.

As part of their commitment to passenger satisfaction, Porter also ensures that all travelers receive complimentary beer, wine, and premium snacks. It’s a little touch of luxury that sets the tone for a pleasant journey.

Middle Seat-Free Configuration

The Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which operates the daily roundtrip flights, boasts a two-by-two seating configuration.

This means no middle seats on any Porter flight, providing passengers with added comfort and space.

Connecting Western Canada to Fort Lauderdale

For the first time, travelers can enjoy the distinctive style, care, and charm that Porter Airlines is known for throughout the entire journey.

The connection extends from Fort Lauderdale to sought-after Western Canada destinations like Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.

This is made possible by connecting flights via Toronto Pearson and Ottawa International, creating a streamlined travel experience.

Stakeholder Comments

Porter Airlines’ expansion into Fort Lauderdale was commented upon by key stakeholders. Kevin Jackson, Executive Vice President, and Chief Commercial Officer, Porter Airlines says:

“Florida is a popular destination for Canadians, and Fort Lauderdale is the fourth market in the state that Porter has launched this fall.”

“We’re excited that passengers can now choose to travel in style with Porter’s unique elevated economy experience to more destinations than ever before.”

Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport says: “As the busy year-end holiday travel season nears, it’s an ideal time to welcome Porter Airlines to our growing portfolio of air carriers.”

“With Canada already the No. 1 international market for FLL, Porter’s flights to Toronto and Ottawa will only serve to bolster existing ties between our two regions while providing new travel opportunities for mutually beneficial tourism and business activities.”

From Mark Laroche, President, and CEO, Ottawa International Airport: “Ottawa-Gatineau has a sizable snowbird population that favors south Florida for their winter stays and getaways, making Fort Lauderdale their airport of choice.”

“More options for our passengers are always welcome, as is Porter’s continued confidence in YOW as it expands its network.”

Khalil Lamrabet, Chief Commercial Officer, Greater Toronto Airports Authority adds: “Last winter, Fort Lauderdale was the most in-demand US route from Pearson.”

“We are excited to see Porter’s continued commitment to expanding its network at YYZ. Their growth is undoubtedly helping to satisfy demand while providing more choice for passengers.”
