Canada’s Porter Airlines is celebrating 17 years of service. Marking its 17th anniversary, the airline has taken a look back at some key achievements of note from the past year.
Setting New Heights with the E195-E2 Jets
One of the most significant developments in the past year has been the introduction of Porter’s state-of-the-art Embraer E195-E2 jets.
These next generation aircraft have redefined air travel in Canada, setting new standards for comfort and efficiency.
This year the carrier took delivery of 22 E195 E-Jets; taking its total fleet size to 51, including 29 Dash-8 aircraft.
Beginning the journey close to home, here are some of the key regional highlights for Porter Airlines over the past year.
Toronto Pearson International Airport
Another major milestone in Porter’s journey was its foray into Toronto Pearson International Airport with its new E195 E-Jets. This expansion opened up a world of opportunities for the airline, allowing it to serve a broader audience.
Expanding Flights in Ottawa
Porter Airlines didn’t stop at Toronto Pearson; it also significantly expanded its operations in Ottawa. This strategic move has enhanced the airline’s presence and connectivity in the region.
“Passengers love flying Porter and they have been asking us for years to fly to more destinations. Now, we’re operating from Billy Bishop and Pearson airports in Toronto, and expanding across North America, so that passengers have more options to fly with Porter,” said Michael Deluce, president and CEO, Porter Airlines.
Coast-to-Coast in Canada
With these changes, Porter Airlines now boasts a network that stretches from the charming Victoria in the west to the picturesque St. John’s in the east of Canada.
The airline has made the dream of coast-to-coast travel a reality for countless passengers.
Crossing Borders: Expanding into Key U.S. Markets
Not limiting itself to Canada, Porter Airlines has also set its sights on the United States. The airline now flies to five destinations in Florida, making it a preferred choice for sun-seekers.
Additionally, travelers can now jet off to iconic cities like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, starting this fall and winter.
The People Behind the Success
The success of Porter Airlines can be attributed not only to its state-of-the-art fleet but also to its dedicated team.
In the past year, the airline has welcomed more than 1,000 new team members. Their passion and commitment to delivering top-notch service have set Porter apart from its competitors.
“Our team members have tremendous passion and they genuinely care about our passengers. They are instrumental in delivering an elevated level of service that no other airline on the continent can match for economy passengers,” Deluce commented.
Economy Air Travel in Style
Porter Airlines is rewriting the rulebook for economy air travel. With a strong focus on customer experience, Porter has become synonymous with comfort and quality.
A hallmark of Porter’s service is its in-flight experience. Complimentary beer and wine served in glassware elevate the journey, turning it into a delightful experience.
A selection of premium snacks is another delightful touch that passengers have come to appreciate.
No More Middle Seats!
In a world where the middle seat on a flight is often the least desirable, Porter Airlines offers a breath of fresh air.
Both the Dash 8 and E195-E2 aircraft feature a two-by-two configuration, ensuring that passengers never have to endure the dreaded middle seat experience.
Staying Connected: Free Wi-Fi
In today’s hyper-connected world, staying online is essential. Porter Airlines understands this need and is the only airline in Canada to offer free, fast Wi-Fi for all passengers on E195-E2 flights.
It’s a game-changer for travelers who want to remain connected during their journey.
Culinary Delights at Altitude
Longer flights deserve more than just snacks, and Porter delivers. Fresh, delectable meals are available to everyone on extended routes. Porter ensures that the culinary journey is as enjoyable as the destination.
