Services between Dortmund and Istanbul with Pegasus Airlines will operate on a three times per week basis, running on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Commenting on this new route was Ludger van Bebber, the CEO of the German airport:

“The newly established connection to Sabiha Gokcen Airport in Istanbul represents a significant achievement for Dortmund Airport and our passengers”.

“Beyond experiencing the captivating metropolis of Istanbul, travellers now have access to a variety of thrilling destinations via the Pegasus route network from SAW.”

“We are delighted to welcome Pegasus as our new partner, sharing our commitment to sustainable growth”.

“Together, we aim to offer passengers affordable flights to a broad range of destinations”.

Pegasus Airlines also offers onward connections from Istanbul which Dortmund residents may benefit from such as the Middle East and Asia.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on how this new route performs by the Turkish carrier, as well as whether there is additional scope to expand this further going into the future.

But for now, this is strong news for the local community, and it is of the hope from the Turkish carrier that this will be taken advantage of moving forward.
