oneworld alliance names Nathaniel Pieper as new CEO

The oneworld® alliance has named airline industry veteran Nathaniel (Nat) Pieper as its new CEO. Pieper, who is currently senior vice president of fleet, finance and alliances at oneworld member Alaska Airlines, will join the alliance in his new role on 1 April 2024.

With an impressive track record and extensive experience, Pieper is now set to steer oneworld through its 25th anniversary celebration year.

With a career spanning over 25 years, Nathaniel Pieper brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role as CEO of oneworld.

Currently serving as the senior vice president of fleet, finance, and alliances at Alaska Airlines, Pieper has demonstrated his ability to navigate the complexities of the industry and drive strategic initiatives to fruition.

With a bachelor’s degree in history from Duke University and an MBA in finance, strategy, and transportation management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Pieper brings a unique blend of academic rigor and practical experience to his role.

Robert Isom, CEO of American Airlines and Chairman of the oneworld alliance, expressed his confidence in Pieper’s appointment, highlighting his extensive experience and vision.

Pieper will report to the alliance’s Governing Board, comprised of the member airline CEOs.

At the helm of oneworld, Pieper’s primary objective will be to strengthen the alliance between its partners, fostering collaboration and innovation to meet the evolving needs of travelers.
