Oman Air has been named the most punctual airline in the Middle East and Africa for 2023, scoring an outstanding 92.5% On-Time Performance (OTP), the highest among all carriers across all categories.

The rankings, published in the 2023 On-Time Performance Review by global aviation analytics leader, Cirium, measured performance data collected from more than 600 sources of real-time flight information.

This becomes the latest accolade for the carrier, and also marks Oman Air’s second consecutive triumph in the rankings after scoring 91.3% in 2022.

The Significance of On-Time Performance

On-time performance (OTP) is a key performance metric, and becomes a critical factor in the development of overall passenger experience and customer satisfaction.

For travelers, flights that adhere to schedules mean smoother, less stressful journeys, setting the stage for a positive and stress-free adventure.

Oman Air recognizes the importance of OTP in shaping perceptions, and by consistently achieving exemplary performance, the airline showcases its unwavering commitment to reliability, reduced travel uncertainties, and increased passenger confidence.

Previous Accolades

The Cirium ranking becomes the latest in a string of awards for the carrier; having previously secured a prestigious Five-Star APEX award rating in November 2023.

This accolade, the 2024 Five-Star Major Airline rating by the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), marked the fourth consecutive year of recognition for Oman Air.

APEX Five-Star and Four-Star Airline Awards

The APEX Five-Star and Four-Star Airline Awards, formerly known as APEX Official Airline Ratings™, are a testament to Oman Air’s commitment to providing a world-class travel experience.

These awards are not arbitrary; they are based on neutral, third-party passenger feedback and insights gathered through APEX’s partnership with TripIt® from Concur®, the world’s highest-rated travel-organizing app.

Passengers from around the world rated nearly one million flights across 600 airlines using a five-star scale, independently certified by a professional external auditing company.

Oman Air’s consistent recognition in these awards highlights its dedication to meeting and exceeding passenger expectations.

In 2022, the airline received the Passenger Choice Award® for Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East, demonstrating its commitment to passenger comfort.

Moreover, Oman Air has consistently secured the Five-Star Major Airline rankings for 2023, 2022, and 2021.

Air was also named the ‘Best Airline Staff in the Middle East’ at the Skytrax 2023 World Airline Awards. This recognition underscores the airline’s dedication to setting new benchmarks for guest experience year after year.
