Southwest Airlines has this week announced a new route that will launch in January 2024, which is Omaha-Fort Lauderdale, as well as extending its scheduling to that period.
In its release, this new route for the Winter was highlighted, followed by service resumptions and more.

The New Southwest Airlines Route Between Omaha & Fort Lauderdale…
As much as we understand, the new seasonal service will begin on January 13, 2024, and will operate on Saturdays only.
Southwest Airlines didn’t give much more information about this new route between Omaha and Fort Lauderdale but highlighted its service resumptions for the Winter 2023/24 season instead.

What remains clear is that demand is that strong; the carrier is wanting to plan further in advance and secure that revenue now in advance of the busy winter period.
The Omaha-Fort Lauderdale route launch will be welcomed by those in the community and represents the carrier’s continued approach to growth.
