Norwich Airport will get 12 flights per week thanks to an announcement made by Ryanair this week regarding it’s new base operation plan for the Summer 2024 season.

This represents a massive boost to the local airport, which will provide over 60 new local jobs and handle 60,000 passengers.

Without further ado, let’s get into it…

The 12 flights per week will be split up into the following three routes that will operate from Norwich Airport:

  • Alicante
  • Faro
  • Malta

This airport will become the 22nd UK airport for Ryanair. The airline’s Head of Communication, Jade Kirwan had this to say on the plans:

“As the UK’s No.1 airline, we are delighted to announce that Ryanair’s low fares have finally arrived in Norwich.”

“From 1st April 2024, we will operate 3 exciting new Summer sunshine routes to/from Norwich – Alicante, Faro, and Malta.”

“Our new Norwich operation will not only bring competitive fares and a wider selection of Summer routes to our customers in Norwich and the wider Norfolk region, but will support important regional development through increased connectivity, inbound tourism, and local job creation.”

“We have worked productively with our new partners at [the airport] to agree terms which enable Ryanair to deliver this growth and investment for the region, and we look forward to further developing our partnership with Norwich Airport and welcoming Norfolk customers/visitors onboard our Ryanair flights to/from Norwich as we continue to grow to 300 million p.a. by 2034.”

All eyes on how operations will run out of the airport, and it will be interesting to see whether this could be an airport of potential for the Irish low-cost carrier going into the future.
