Norway is now arranging for an aircraft to transport Norwegian citizens home from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

As the security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories becomes increasingly volatile, the Norwegian government today announced its intent to repatriate its citizens from Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.

The Scandinavian carrier Norwegian will set up an extra flight from Tel Aviv to Oslo with tentative departure tonight, Wednesday 11 October, to fly Norwegian and other Nordic citizens out of Israel.

The flight is operated on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The objective is to help those passengers that are stranded in Israel.

Tel Aviv – Norwegian Response

“We are sending a Norwegian aircraft to Tel Aviv today to bring Norwegian citizens home. We have been working on this solution with Norwegian Air over the last few days,” announced the Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anniken Huitfeldt.

This swift response underscores Norway’s dedication to the safety and security of its citizens in the face of challenging circumstances.

The security situation in Israel and the Palestinian territories has made it increasingly difficult for Norwegian citizens to leave the region.

The rising tension and uncertainty have raised concerns for the safety of those living in this area. Minister Huitfeldt’s statement reaffirms the government’s commitment to its citizens, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

Access for Norwegian Citizens

Norwegian citizens wishing to utilize this opportunity to return home can do so by contacting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs via email.

While this evacuation flight is a commendable endeavor, it’s essential to note that participants will be asked to contribute to the cost of their transport.

This collaborative effort reflects the shared responsibility in ensuring the safety and well-being of the Norwegian citizens affected by the ongoing crisis.

Unscheduled Flight Operation

It’s important to mention that this evacuation flight is in addition to the scheduled flights that continue to depart from Israel.

Norway’s response to this crisis is comprehensive, ensuring that its citizens have multiple options to return home safely.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is diligently coordinating this evacuation operation. A dedicated team from the Ministry has been dispatched to Ben Gurion Airport to provide on-ground assistance during this crucial operation.
