Malaysian low-cost carrier MYAirline has announced the suspension of its operations with immediate effect from 12 October 2023 until further notice.
The airline says that it has made the decision because of significant financial pressures; making it necessary to suspend operations pending the shareholder restructuring and recapitalization of the airline.
Understanding the MYAirline Suspension
MYAirline’s Board of Directors issued a heartfelt statement expressing their deep regret and sincere apology for having to make this difficult decision.
They acknowledged the far-reaching consequences it would have on their passengers, employees, and partners.
The statement read, “We have worked tirelessly to explore various partnership and capital raising options to prevent this suspension. Unfortunately, the constraints of time have left us with no alternative but to take this decision.”

A Challenging Situation

The MYAirline Board, shareholders, and the entire MYAirline team are working tirelessly to resume operations as quickly as possible.
However, at this point, they are unable to commit to a specific timeline. In their statement, they expressed their sincerest apologies for any difficulty and inconvenience stemming from this suspension.
The carrier has promised to provide regular updates as soon as more information becomes available.
