Earlier today, it has been revealed that Mexicana de Aviación has placed an order for 10 Embraer E190-E2s and 10 E195-E2s.
This represents a strong order for the program of aircraft, and will help grow efficiencies at the airline too.

The Embraer E2 Order Made by Mexicana de Aviación…
Mexicana de Aviación has placed an order for 10 Embraer E190-E2s and 10 E195-E2 aircraft.
It is understood that deliveries will begin in the second quarter of next year, with the E190-E2s seating 108 passengers and the E195-E2s seating 135.
Furthermore, this also makes the airline the launch customer of the types in Mexico.
Priscilla Doro Solymossy, VP Sales and Marketing, Head of Latin America and the Caribbean, Embraer Commercial Aviation, said the following:
“We welcome Mexicana to the E2 family, the first E2 operator in Mexico. Seeing the success and rapid growth Mexicana has achieved since it restarted operations in December 2023 has been remarkable.”
“The airline is already flying to 18 destinations, and has transported more than 115,000 passengers, accumulating more than 3,280 flight hours in this short period, reflecting Mexicana’s commitment to operational excellence and customer service.”
The Airline’s Current Fleet At Present…
As per data from Planespotters.net, Mexicana de Aviación only has a fleet of five aircraft at the moment.
The airline started operations back in December 2023, and have been making waves since then.
They have three Boeing 737-800 aircraft and two Embraer ERJ-145s.
Today’s order will make them a majority-Embraer fleet, with it being unclear whether they are going to keep their older aircraft or not.
Their 737s have an average fleet age of eight years, whereas their E145s currently sit at 24.5 years.
The selection of E190-E2 and E195-E2 will give flexibility in which routes they will put the aircraft on, based on demand.

In conclusion, this is yet another successful milestone for Embraer through more E190-E2s and E195-E2s being ordered.
Furthermore, this represents a big step for Mexicana de Aviación as they begin to grow further from their fleet of five aircraft.
Looking ahead, all eyes will be on what routes the airline will launch using these ordered aircraft.
But for now, all we can do is wait until delivery day to see what sort of flights the aircraft will operate.
