Man City fans welcomed their squad back to Manchester at the Runway Viewing Park, just outside of the airport.

It was originally revealed that the squad was going to come in on a Titan Airways Airbus A321neo, but through confirmation on Etihad’s Instagram story, the squad was on the Dreamliner instead.

A6-BND, the Etihad Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner in the Man City livery, departed Istanbul at 1436 local this afternoon, and arrived into Manchester at 1625.

The aircraft was able to fend off significant thunderstorms in the area, which resulted in the evacuation of festival-goers at Parklife in Heaton Park.

As you can see from the photos below, dozens of Manchester City fans gathered to the viewing park to celebrate their team coming home after winning the treble, including its first Champions League victory in its history.

As it stands, A6-BND is due to depart from Manchester at 2100 local, back to Abu Dhabi, where it will be carrying revenue passengers.

This marks an end to what has been the weekend of a lifetime for Manchester City fans, and this will no doubt be remembered in their minds for years to come.

All eyes will be on the team to see how next season will go, and whether we could be seeing more of the special Man City livery from Etihad again soon.
