Malaysia Airlines expands Indonesian network: A gateway to West Java

Airlines is all set to introduce a brand-new direct flight route, connecting Kuala Lumpur (KUL) to Kertajati (KJT), Indonesia starting from 30 October 2023. The new twice-weekly flight will be operated by the airline’s Boeing 737-800NG aircraft. 

This addition to their network aims to make exploring the enchanting region of West Java, including the bustling city of Bandung, more accessible than ever before.

Malaysia Airlines has already established itself as a key player in connecting Malaysia to Indonesia. With this new route, the airline will further solidify its presence by offering direct connectivity to seven Indonesian cities.

Destinations including Jakarta, Denpasar, Medan, Yogyakarta, Pekanbaru, Surabaya, and now, Kertajati.

Introductory Fares


To celebrate the launch of this exciting new route, Malaysia Airlines is offering special introductory fares for a limited time. From now until the 8th of October 2023, you can book flights for travel between the 30th of October 2023 and the 29th of March 2024.

The fares start as low as RM519 for Economy Class and RM1,969 for Business Class, making this the perfect opportunity to plan your next adventure or business trip to Indonesia.

Complimentary Shuttle Service


Malaysia Airlines is committed to providing a seamless and convenient travel experience for its passengers. To ensure your journey is as hassle-free as possible, the airline will be offering a free shuttle service between Kertajati International Airport and Bandung city.

This daily service will be available from the 30th of October to the 31st of December 2023.

For your convenience, the shuttle service from Kertajati International Airport will depart at 9:00 pm and arrive at Pasteur, Bandung (opposite Aston Hotel) at 10:30 pm.

 On the return journey from Bandung, the shuttle will depart at 5:00 pm and arrive at Kertajati International Airport at 6:30 pm.

This service ensures travelers a hassle-free journey from the airport to the desired destination in Bandung and back.

Ahmad Luqman Mohd Azmi, Chief Executive Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), spoke on the latest expansion, saying,

“As one of the top five largest markets for Malaysia Airlines, the addition of Kertajati to our network will not only provide greater flexibility and convenience for travelers – whether for leisure or business – but also stimulate tourism receipts and strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.”

“With this new service, travelers can seamlessly explore more of West Java, with its strategic connectivity to beautiful Bandung, Cirebon, Majalengka, and more.”
