LOT Polish Airlines has this week revealed plans to launch flights between Warsaw and Riyadh starting in June 2024.

It is understood this route has been implemented as a response to Saudi Arabia welcoming tourists from the EU by offering simplified entry formalities and inviting them to visit a number of attractions.

Flights between Warsaw & Riyadh with LOT will begin on June 4 next year, and will operate on a thrice-weekly service using their Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.

The flight will depart the Polish airport at 1520 local time, and will then head out for the return flight at 0125 local time in the morning.

Expected flight time on this route is expected to be around six and a half hours.

Michał Fijoł, LOT Polish Airlines Chief Executive Officer said the following on these planned flights between Warsaw & Riyadh:

“The strategic expansion of our global route network takes into account the needs and desires of our passengers, offering them the inspiration to explore the world.”

“That is why we are happy that Saudi Arabia is opening up to tourism, best evidenced by the agreement on direct air connections between this country and Poland and easier entry for European Union citizens.”

“I believe that Riyadh will be an interesting destination for people who like to explore new, diverse places. At the same time, due to growing economic cooperation and a large number of investments, Saudi Arabia is a promising market for Polish business”.

All eyes will be on how this new route will perform, as well as whether there is scope to upgrade the equipment or increase frequencies in the future.
