LOT Polish Airlines is reinstating flights to Athens with a year-round service from Warsaw to the Greek capital.

The 2024 summer season will also see the national carrier opening four new holiday destinations from Radom.

Athens Revisited

LOT Polish Airlines will see the resumption of its daily flights to Athens, commencing on April 11, 2024, at the traveler-friendly hour of 10 a.m.

The anticipated flight duration from the heart of Poland to the enchanting Greek capital is approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes, with the return journey clocking in at just 2 hours and 35 minutes.

Both the Embraer 195 and the Boeing 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 aircraft will service the route, ensuring passengers a choice of comfort and efficiency.

Aircraft and Routes

Chopin Airport in Warsaw will serve as the launchpad for the daily service to Athens, supported by the carrier’s fleet of Embraer 195, Boeing 737-800, and 737 MAX 8.

The service from Athens will see the return flight spreading its wings at 2.25 p.m.

Michał Fijoł, the CEO of LOT Polish Airlines, extended a warm invitation to passengers, emphasizing the unique charm of the Greek mainland.

He states, “The connection to Athens means LOT Polish Airlines passengers get to visit the heart of Greece all year round. Poles are well familiar with the Greek islands, but now the time has come to visit the charming mainland of Hellada, just as rich in historical features and ancient culture.”

“What Greece and LOT most certainly have in common is their unparalleled hospitality – which is why I would love to invite you on board.”

Athens and the Olympic Connection

This renewed connection to Athens holds particular significance as LOT Polish Airlines gears up for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

In the words of Filip Biniewicz, Head of Group Offering Strategy Department, LOT Polish Airlines, “Over many years, LOT Polish Airlines has been in partnership with the Olympic Committees, and this is reflected in the large number of bookings for the 33rd Summer Olympics in Paris.”

“Given the limited capacity of Paris Airport, the Thursday flights will be relocated to Warsaw Airport if no additional slots are available.”

“This will enable us to bring the best connections for passengers, including transit groups, travelling to the Olympic Games, both as a sports fan and as a competitor.”

Summary

Athens is not the sole jewel in LOT Polish Airlines’ crown of new routes. As the summer season of 2024 unfurls, the airline is set to reinstate flights from Radom to Preveza and Tirana.

Additionally, the launch of flights to Podgorica and Ohrid promises a broader spectrum of travel opportunities for eager explorers.
