Lisbon Sees a Return to Qatar Airways Network

Qatar Airways has now relaunched direct flights between its award-winning hub, Hamad International Airport (DOH), and Lisbon’s Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS).

This move has been roundly welcomed, and it caters to the surge in travel demand to this popular Portuguese destination.

Passengers can now enjoy convenient year-round service to Lisbon, with six weekly flights offered throughout the summer season of 2024.

This expansion strengthens Qatar Airways’ European network, reaffirming their stated commitment to connecting the world.

Lisbon Re-joins Qatar Network

Qatar Airways Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Thierry Antinori gave comment on behalf of the airline. “We are thrilled to welcome Lisbon back to our extensive network of over 170 destinations,” he said.

“This relaunch reflects our dedication to making international travel more accessible and fostering connections between people and places across the globe.”

Lisbon, with its breathtaking beaches, vibrant cities, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites, serves as the perfect gateway to Portugal’s rich cultural tapestry and captivating tourism experiences.

Beyond Lisbon: A World of Connections

This exciting addition to Qatar Airways’ network marks the 47th European destination served by the airline.

Moreover, Lisbon acts as a new gateway for European travelers seeking onwards connections. Onwards services are available to the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent.

Popular onward destinations from Lisbon include Bali, Bangkok, Delhi, Denpasar, Kathmandu, and Male.

About Qatar Airways: Awards Continue

Qatar Airways, a multi-awarded airline, has again secured the prestigious “World’s Best Business Class” title. Skytrax awarded Qatar Airways the “World’s Best Business Class” title for an incredible tenth time at the 2023 World Airline Awards.

Qatar Airways’ dedication to excellence goes beyond Business Class. They also swept the “Best Airline in the Middle East” and “World’s Best Business Class Lounge” awards.

It also took out the “World’s Best Business Class Lounge Dining” award. These accolades were awarded at the same prestigious event during the 2023 Paris Air Show.

World Travel Tech Awards recently awarded Qatar Airways the title of “World’s Best Airline Website.” This further highlighted its position as an industry leader in innovation and digital adoption.

As a champion for environmental responsibility, Qatar Airways was the first Middle Eastern airline to achieve the highest level of IATA’s Environmental Assessment (IEnvA) program.

Additionally, they were the world’s first airline to be certified for preventing illegal wildlife trafficking through air travel, becoming an inaugural signatory to the Buckingham Palace Declaration in March 2016.

Qatar Airways boasts an extensive network spanning nearly 170 destinations worldwide. All flights connect through their award-winning Doha hub, Hamad International Airport.

Skytrax awarded Hamad International Airport the prestigious title of “World’s Best Airport” in 2021, 2022, and 2024.
