Jetstar has unveiled a brand new uniform collection designed to mark the airline’s 20th anniversary and usher in a new era of low-cost travel.

Jetstar prioritized comfort, style, and sustainability when designing their new uniforms.
Renowned Australian fashion designer Genevieve Smart collaborated with over 40 Jetstar team members to create the collection.

A Vibrant New Look

The new uniforms boast a vibrant color scheme. The colors of a sunset seen from an airplane window formed the inspiration for the look. This symbolizes the excitement and anticipation of travel.

For cabin crew and airport staff, there are various uniform options. These include blazers in blue and orange, along with shirt dresses, tailored skirts, and comfortable trousers.

“We’ve listened to our people and wanted to create a uniform that reflects how far we’ve come,” said Stephanie Tully, Jetstar Group CEO. “With Genevieve Smart’s help, the new collection offers more choices and reflects the fun, unity, and holiday spirit that Jetstar is known for.”

The Inspiration Behind the Design

Fashion designer, Genevieve Smart worked alongside 40 Jetstar pilots, cabin crew and airport team members. It has now taken 12 months to complete the final design for the new look.

Sustainability was a key factor in the design process. Jetstar is partnering with BlockTexx to recycle its existing uniforms. The company transforms textiles into raw materials for new products.

The new uniforms prioritize comfort and wearability for the wearer. The new look caters to individual preferences whilst ensuring a professional yet relaxed feel.

“We’ve listened to our people and wanted to create a uniform that reflects how far we’ve come,” said Stephanie Tully, Jetstar Group CEO.

Co-Founder and Creative Director of Ginger & Smart, Genevieve Smart, drew inspiration from the essence of travel and the Jetstar brand.

“The uniforms are intended to feel like pieces you might pack for a holiday, like a linen jacket or a smart polo,” she explained.

“The evolution from black to a dynamic blue and orange palette reflects Jetstar’s journey, while the styles are modern and comfortable.”

A Look at the Collections

  • Stellar Collection: The Stellar Collection features the classic Jetstar star print. It offers a variety of versatile pieces for various styles and preferences. These include a timeless shirt dress, a relaxed-fit blazer for comfort, and tailored trousers.
  • Horizon Collection: This collection focuses on layering with a linen-look blazer, classic shirts, and both classic and tapered-fit pants.
  • Pilot Collection: The pilot collection offers a timeless and sophisticated look. It features a new, tailored suit in navy for a sharp and professional appearance. The slimline tie incorporates a subtle star pattern, tying back to the overall Jetstar brand. The epaulettes and badges received an update to achieve a modern and polished aesthetic.

“Our new look uniform comes as we celebrate our 20th birthday in May and adds to our investment in new aircraft, new routes, and new cabins for our international widebody fleet to help customers fly to more places more often for less,” said Stephanie Tully.
