Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have acknowledged the continuing strong holiday travel demand in the South East and London, by expanding their Summer 23 operation from London Stansted Airport.

The operator will add Bourgas, Bulgaria as an additional route service to its London Stansted Airport compliment, as well as an additional based aircraft.

The UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline will introduce flights and holiday selections for Bourgas in Bulgaria for Summer 23 from London Stansted. A twice-weekly flight service will operate from 21 July through to late-September.

This means holidaymakers have fantastic choice and flexibility when it comes to accessing Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast, as well as the region’s top resorts, including Sunny Beach, Nessebar and St Vlas.

This is great news for holidaymakers as Sunny Beach was recently recognised as the third best holiday destination in the world for value.

London Stansted base

London Stansted airport is the second largest UK base for Jet2, and currently as many as 240 weekly departures are carried out during peak periods.

To support peak travel demand from the airport, the carrier will expand its operation with a 16th based aircraft which will support peak summer season flight services.

The addition of this aircraft effectively means that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays will add thousands of seats to some of its most popular destinations in the Balearics, Italy, Portugal and Greece during the school holiday season.

  • Faro (Algarve) (12),

  • Kalamata (2), and
  • Rhodes (10).

London Stansted comments

The addition of another based aircraft for the carrier was also welcomed by the London airport. In addition to the new Bulgaria service, Jet2 recently supplemented its offerings from Stansted with inaugural flights to Athens and Rome.

Simon Gorrighan, London Stansted’s Aviation Director, said: “The addition of a 16th based aircraft by Jet2.com and Jet2holidays at London Stansted this summer season is fantastic news, including the introduction of exciting new flights and holidays to Bourgas in Bulgaria.

“The news is a real vote of confidence in the airport and a reflection of the huge demand from passengers across the region for great value, convenient flights and holidays,”

“We really look forward to continuing to build our successful partnership with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays for what promises to be their busiest summer ever at London Stansted.”
