Jazeera Airways, the leading low-cost carrier in Kuwait, announces a leadership change. Rohit Ramachandran, the current CEO, will be stepping down after seven successful years with the airline.
Barathan Pasupathi (Bara), a seasoned aviation expert with over 30 years of experience, will succeed Ramachandran as the new CEO, effective March 26, 2024.
Rohit Ramachandran: Legacy of Growth
Chairman Marwan Boodai expressed his gratitude for Ramachandran’s leadership, highlighting his “strong, visionary, and passionate” approach.
“During his tenure and by forging strong strategic relationships with key stakeholders, supported by the strength of our outstanding Jazeera teams,” he said.
During Ramachandran’s tenure, Jazeera Airways tripled its fleet, expanding to 65 destinations. It achieved record passenger numbers, and established the profitable Jazeera Terminal 5.
Boodai commended Ramachandran’s skillful navigation of the airline through the pandemic, ensuring its future success.
“The business is now in a strong and resilient position and well placed to navigate the next chapter. We look towards the order book of 26 A320neo and A321neo aircraft.”

Barathan Pasupathi: Leader Poised for Continued Growth
Pasupathi brings a wealth of experience to the CEO role. He previously served as CEO of Jetstar Asia and CFO of Jazeera Airways and Sahaab Aircraft Leasing.
His extensive aviation experience encompasses safety, operations, customer leadership, and expertise in growing markets.
Boodai emphasized Pasupathi’s appointment as a testament to “continuity and strong leadership” for Jazeera Airways. With the new appointment, it embarks on its next chapter of growth.
