Sustainable Aviation Fuel Initiatives

As part of its environmental stewardship, JAL plans to replace 1% of the onboard fuel with Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) on Japan-bound flights.

This move is a strategic effort to further diminish CO2 emissions and minimize the airline’s overall environmental impact.

By embracing sustainable practices, JAL is not only flying its passengers but also leading the way towards a more sustainable aviation industry.

Fleet Renewal

In a bid to enhance customer satisfaction and align with environmental goals, JAL is phasing out its Boeing 777-300ERs and ushering in the A350-1000 fleet.

With 13 A350-1000s on order, the airline is committed to embracing advanced technology and environmental efficiency.

This transition marks a pivotal moment in JAL’s journey towards a fleet that combines unparalleled comfort with eco-conscious performance.

Revamped Disembarkation Videos

Complementing the launch of the A350-1000, JAL is introducing newly renewed disembarkation videos on all domestic and international routes, including on the Tokyo-New York route.

These videos, the first update in 12 years, showcase individuals contributing to Japan’s rich culture and technology landscape.

Passengers are encouraged to savor these moments, providing a delightful conclusion to their journey with JAL.

The airline operates a fleet of 225 aircraft and will begin renewing its international long-haul aircraft with the Airbus A350-1000 starting 2023 Winter Schedule.

Together with other JAL Group and partner airlines, Japan Airlines offers an extensive domestic and international network that serves 376 airports across 64 countries/regions, including the Tokyo-New York route with the Airbus A350-1000.

The airline has received numerous accolades for its exceptional service, including being recognized as a certified 5-Star Airline by Skytrax and being awarded the prestigious “World Class” Airline title by APEX, the Airline Passenger Experience Association.

JAL takes great pride in its on-time performance and is regarded as one of the most punctual airlines globally.
