Hong Kong Airlines resumes direct Kumamoto services

Hong Kong Airlines has now announced the resumption of its direct service to Kumamoto, Japan. With a scheduled launch date of December 2, 2023, this revival comes as welcome news as air travel demand continues its resurgence.

It will become the second destination in Japan’s Kyushu region to be served by the carrier.

Reconnecting with Kumamoto


After a lengthy hiatus since its last operation in 2016, Hong Kong Airlines will reintroduce Kumamoto as a prominent destination in its expanding Japanese network.

The airline aims to initially operate this route three times a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

This strategic move marks the fifth destination launched by Hong Kong Airlines this year, reinforcing its commitment to providing diverse travel choices and enhanced convenience for passengers traveling to and from Japan.

Currently, the airline operates flights to seven captivating destinations in Japan. These include daily flights to Nagoya and Fukuoka, twice-daily flights to Okinawa, thrice-daily flights to Tokyo (Narita) and Osaka, and three weekly flights to Sapporo.
