HK Express’ First A321neo…
Marking a significant milestone for the airline, HK Express has received its first Airbus A321neo, registered as B-KKA.
For its delivery flight, B-KKA departed from Airbus’ factory in Hamburg, Germany, namely Finkenwerder Airport (XFW) as flight UO9184 / HKE9184 at 12:29 pm local time bound for its stopover at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) arriving at 21:53 pm local time.
The aircraft then left Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) the following morning at 11:30 am local time bound for its final destination, Hong Kong International Airport (HKG), arriving at 22:39 pm local time.
This is the first of 16 Airbus A321neos that are bound for the carrier, joining their existing fleet of five Airbus A320ceos, 10 Airbus A320neos, and 11 Airbus A321ceos.
It is worth noting that HK Express is part of the Cathay Pacific Group, and with Cathay Pacific already operating 10 Airbus A321neos, this latest one marks the group’s 11th overall.
As with the rest of the group’s Airbus A321neos, the carriers’ latest is powered by CFM International’s LEAP-1A engines and has the seating capacity for up to 236 passengers. In an all-economy Airbus Airspace cabin.
As you can see, the new A321neo is sporting a refreshed look for the carrier, showcasing a much more modern white and purple livery, with emphasis on the “e”. This can be seen on the aircraft’s tail, title markings, and sharklets.
This emphasis of the “e” symbolizes the start of a pleasant journey with the carrier.
HK Express’ Chief Executive Officer, Mandy Ng has said, “We are thrilled to welcome the first A321neo to our fleet.”
“As an operator of the A320 Family, we are confident in the A321neo’s game-changing ability to provide more capacity with greater sustainability. At HK Express, the A321neo is key in our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment.”
Adding to Mandy Ng’s comments, Airbus’ President of Asia-Pacific, Anand Stanley says, “Airbus is proud to extend our relationship with the Cathay Pacific Group, and this new delivery represents a new milestone in our long relationship.”
“The A321neo’s performance and efficiency will allow HK Express to expand its network while reducing its carbon footprint.”
