Swiss regional airline Helvetic Airways is expanding its fleet by four Embraer E195-E1s as of summer 2024, bringing the total fleet to 22 aircraft.

A long-term leasing agreement has been signed with Azorra for the four 122-seater regional commuter aircraft.

Helvetic Airways E195 Acquisition

Helvetic Airways recently inked a multi-year lease agreement with Azorra, marking a further step in the airline’s growth trajectory.

The four Embraer E195-E1s, built in 2011, are anticipated to be inducted into Helvetic Airways’ existing fleet at the onset of the second quarter of 2024. The operator already operates an all-Embraer regional fleet.

Notably, these latest aircraft boast a brand-new and contemporary interior configuration, featuring a total of 122 seats arranged in a passenger-friendly “no middle seats” 2-2 layout.

With this latest acquisition, Helvetic Airways is set to elevate its fleet to a total of 22 aircraft, including four Embraer E195-E2s, eight E190-E2s, six E190s, and four E195s, by the commencement of the 2024 summer timetable.

Azorra’s Perspective
