Gulf Air has announced the re-establishment of its flight services to Iraq. Effective June 1st, 2024, passengers will now benefit from increased travel options between Bahrain and Iraq.

In addition, the carrier will operate four weekly flights to Baghdad and daily flights to Najaf. The return to Iraq marks the end of a four-year hiatus, after flights were suspended during the global pandemic in 2020.

Relaunch of Iraq Services

These strategically timed flights will be operated using Gulf Air’s modern Airbus fleet, ensuring a comfortable and reliable travel experience.

Departures from Bahrain are scheduled for 9:40 am on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays for Baghdad, with daily Najaf flights departing at 10:25 am.

“The resumption of flights to Iraq represents Gulf Air’s continued focus on network optimization,” stated a company spokesperson.

“Iraq is a significant market for Bahrain and serves as a crucial connection point for travelers across the region.”

“We are confident that these flights will further strengthen the economic and social ties between the two countries, and Gulf Air is proud to support this important development.”

This relaunch signifies a return to familiar territory for Gulf Air, which previously served Baghdad, Erbil, and Najaf. Gulf Air first established flight operations in Iraq in 1974, supporting services to the three destinations.

In 2024, passengers can now expect a streamlined travel experience through the modern and efficient Bahrain International Airport.
