Frontier Airlines, a leading ultra-low-cost carrier, has secured a significant boost to its maintenance operations. The US carrier has widened its maintenance partnership, with a new five-year agreement with Lufthansa Technik.
This partnership goes beyond just base maintenance services for Frontier’s Airbus A320 family aircraft.
It also incorporates cutting-edge digital solutions through Lufthansa Technik’s AVIATAR platform.
Expanding Base Maintenance Support
The agreement signifies a continuation of a successful collaboration. Previously, the two companies had partnered on base maintenance services for a single line at Lufthansa Technik’s Americas facility.
Lufthansa Technik has also provided component support to Frontier Airlines for several years.
This expanded agreement promises a significant increase in maintenance activity for Frontier Airlines.
The plan outlines roughly 300 aircraft maintenance events to take place over the next five years at Lufthansa Technik Puerto Rico (LTPR).
Strategically located in the Caribbean, LTPR is a state-of-the-art facility specializing in MRO services for the Airbus A320 family.

AVIATAR for Digital Fleet Management
As part of the agreement, Frontier Airlines has signed a separate long-term deal to leverage the full potential of AVIATAR.
This digital platform offers a wide range of solutions, from predictive health analytics to comprehensive condition monitoring.
AVIATAR’s condition monitoring system gathers data from various aircraft sources, providing an unparalleled view of an aircraft’s overall health and the status of individual components.
Predictive health analytics go a step further, anticipating potential issues before they arise. This proactive approach minimizes downtime and streamlines maintenance activities. It has the capability to recommends efficient solutions for component troubleshooting.
Ultimately, these advancements translate into reduced maintenance costs and a significant decrease in operational disruptions, delays, and grounded aircraft.
