flydubai, has announced a new charter agreement with Czech Republic operator Smartwings. This agreement will see the Dubai-based carrier enter a wet lease ACMI arrangement for four Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The agreement is to be put in place between the dates of October 17, 2023, and April 16, 2024. The wet leased aircraft will bolster available capacity on the carrier’s network during busy periods.

The aircraft in question will operate under an Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance (ACMI) arrangement.

The four aircraft leased from Smartwings are set to provide vital support to flydubai’s existing fleet of 79 Boeing 737 aircraft.

This collaboration brings with it a multitude of advantages, chief among them being the increased capacity that flydubai can now offer to its passengers.

Al Ghaith emphasized Smartwings’ exemplary certification, as an IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) certified company, and their extensive experience in ACMI agreements.

A Glimpse into flydubai’s Fleet


flydubai’s current fleet comprises various iterations of Boeing 737 aircraft, reflecting a commitment to modernization and innovation. The fleet includes 30 Next-Generation Boeing 737-800, 46 Boeing 737 MAX 8, and three Boeing 737 MAX 9 aircraft.

This spread of aircraft types ensures that flydubai can cater to a wide range of route options, serving diverse destinations with tailored comfort and efficiency.
