Finland national flag carrier Finnair has announced its expanded Summer 2024 network, featuring an array of hot destinations across its extensive network.

In response to the growing demand for global travel in both Europe and Asia, Finnair is introducing new routes and increasing the frequency of existing services.

Direct Flights from Helsinki to Wroclaw

Starting from April 2, 2024, Finnair will offer a convenient seven-weekly direct service between Helsinki and Wroclaw, Poland’s Silicon Valley.

This vibrant city is renowned for its picturesque old town and bustling scene of art museums, cafes, restaurants, and vintage shops.

With its perfect blend of history and contemporary culture, Wroclaw is an ideal destination for a captivating summer weekend getaway.

Gdansk Returns to Finnair’s European Network

The proposed expansion will also see the return of Gdansk to Finnair’s European network. Starting from March 31, 2024, Finnair will operate ten weekly flights between Helsinki and Gdansk, allowing you to explore the captivating beauty of this Polish coastal city.

Immerse yourself in Gdansk’s rich history, vibrant atmosphere, and stunning architecture as you wander through its charming streets.

Enhanced Connectivity for UK & Ireland Customers

Customers based in the UK & Ireland will also benefit from Finnair’s new schedule, with the introduction of additional flights to Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin in 2024.

Manchester: Enjoy the convenience of 12 weekly direct flights from Manchester to Helsinki, an increase from the current eight flights.

This enhanced frequency strengthens the connection between England and Finland, making it easier for travelers to reach the vibrant Finnish capital.

Edinburgh: Finnair will add two more weekly flights from Edinburgh to Helsinki, increasing the service to seven times per week during the summer.

Dublin: Building on the success of its Dublin route launched in 2015, Finnair will increase direct flights to Helsinki from seven to ten per week in summer 2024.

This expansion enhances connectivity, allowing customers to explore Finland and beyond. Moreover, each flight will now offer an additional 44 seats, as we upgrade the capacity on this route from an E190 to an A319 aircraft.

Finnair Expands its Reach to Japan

For those seeking to venture into Asia, Finnair is also adding extra flights to Japan. Popular connections from Helsinki to Osaka and Tokyo-Narita will each receive two additional weekly flights next summer.

This means that the routes will have five and six weekly flights, respectively, in addition to Finnair’s existing daily Tokyo-Haneda service.

Enhanced European Connections

Finnair is dedicated to expanding European connections, providing travellers with increased opportunities to explore Scandinavia’s key cities.

Additional frequencies will be introduced to cities like Bergen, Billund, Stockholm, Tromso, and Trondheim. Moreover, the carrier will reintroduce it popular pre-pandemic connection from Helsinki to Stockholm and Bergen. This provides the option to fly directly from Stockholm to Bergen, in addition to existing direct flights from Helsinki.

Convenient Connections for UK Travelers

Finnair has strategically scheduled its services to ensure seamless connections for travelers from top UK airports, including London Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Dublin.

Ole Orvér, Finnair’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed his delight about the new offerings, stating, “We are thrilled to introduce Wroclaw as a new destination, catering to both business travelers and those seeking a picturesque city break.”

“Additionally, the expanded frequencies to the UK and Ireland align perfectly with Finnair’s strategy and will undoubtedly be popular among customers planning their long-awaited summer getaways across Finland, Europe, and Asia.”
