Etihad Airways, the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates, has unveiled an ambitious network overhaul, positioning the airline for sustainable expansion while improving Abu Dhabi’s links to global markets.

With a comprehensive approach that introduces new destinations, provides enhanced travel options, and increases frequencies to key international markets, Etihad Airways is moving to improve travel experience while contributing to Abu Dhabi’s economic growth.

Etihad Airways is taking the concept of travel to new heights by introducing a range of captivating destinations.

These sought-after international locations promise diverse cultural experiences and open up avenues for travelers to immerse themselves in global cultures while simultaneously bringing more visitors directly to the heart of the UAE, Abu Dhabi.

Enhanced Travel Flexibility


As global air travel demand continues to increase aggressively, airlines are moving quickly to address customer expectations. Key amongst these are convenience and ease of connectivity.

Through the introduction of multiple and more convenient departure times, Etihad hopes to provide with enhanced travel flexibility, and greater ease of accessing flight services.

The new schedules put forth by Etihad Airways have been carefully thought out. Departures from Abu Dhabi at 2 pm are strategically timed to allow travelers and visitors to fully immerse themselves in the city’s attractions until their checkout time.

Increased Frequencies to Key Markets


Etihad Airways is also contributing significantly to Abu Dhabi’s economic and tourism growth. By ramping up flight frequencies to essential international destinations, the airline is enhancing accessibility and fortifying Abu Dhabi’s standing as a global travel hub.

Notable examples include Cairo, where an additional five flights per week will bolster the connection between Abu Dhabi and the Egyptian capital.

Similarly, Colombo will witness an increase in direct flights per week, further enhancing travel options to this dynamic destination.

The Maldives will also experience an uplift with an additional seven flights per week, underscoring Etihad’s dedication to fostering enhanced connectivity.

Changes in network scheduling also includes adjusted departure times for European and Asian destinations, ensuring a seamless travel experience for passengers.

Additionally, increased frequencies to various key destinations such as Chennai, Islamabad, Kochi, Madrid, Milan, Munich, Rome, and Phuket offer travelers more choices and enhance overall connectivity.

 He emphasizes how the ambitious network and enhanced connectivity will not only serve Abu Dhabi and its valued guests but also lay the groundwork for future expansion.

New Destinations on the Horizon


Etihad Airways will inaugurate flights to 9 new destinations in the current year alone. From the captivating landscapes of Malaga and Mykonos to the vibrant streets of Lisbon and Kolkata, travelers can expect a diverse range of destinations to explore.

This commitment to expanding connectivity also extends to new routes to the Indian Subcontinent, with Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram set to launch in January 2024.
