Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national carrier, has taken flight to Boston for the first time, marking a significant milestone.

The inaugural service, EY147, establishes a vital link between Abu Dhabi and the vibrant US city. This new route strengthens ties between the two regions and offers exciting travel opportunities for passengers.

Boston is now the airline’s fourth destination in the United States. It joins Chicago, New York and Washington, along with services to Toronto in Canada.

787-9 State-of-the-Art Travel Experience

The new route to Boston Logan International Airport offers business and leisure travellers gateway connections across the Middle East and India.

The Boston service operates four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Passengers can expect a comfortable and enjoyable journey aboard a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

Last month, the airline strengthened its long haul fleet, welcoming three new widebody 787-9s. This move supports Etihad’s network expansion strategy of adding new destinations and expanding frequencies into key markets.

The aircraft features Etihad’s renowned Business Studios and Economy Smart seats. All seats are equipped with personal entertainment systems, in-seat power, and in-flight Wi-Fi.

This, combined with Etihad’s world-class service and hospitality, ensures a relaxing and fulfilling travel experience.

“We are thrilled to inaugurate flights to Boston,” said Etihad’s Chief Executive Officer, Antonoaldo Neves.

“This new route not only connects Boston to the cultural richness of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, but also strengthens our commitment to exceptional travel experiences and fostering global connections.”

The convenient schedule caters to both business and leisure travelers, offering seamless connections to Etihad’s growing network across the Middle East, India (with 11 routes), and beyond.

Boston: Gateway to Cultural Exchange

Ed Freni, Massport Interim CEO and Aviation Director, welcomed Etihad to Boston Logan International Airport. “This route provides a key connection between Boston and the UAE, offering New Englanders more options for travel to the Middle East,” he said.

Boston, known for its rich history, diverse culinary scene, and vibrant neighborhoods, offers a unique experience for visitors from Abu Dhabi.

This new route fosters cultural exchange and strengthens the educational ties between the two regions.

Many Emiratis have studied at Boston’s prestigious universities, and ongoing collaborations in healthcare and education sectors drive progress and innovation for both regions.

Partnership with JetBlue

The launch of the Boston route signifies a deeper relationship between Abu Dhabi and Boston. It represents the ongoing cultural and educational partnerships that benefit both regions.

Etihad’s partnership with JetBlue further expands travel options, allowing passengers to explore numerous cities across North America with ease.

By connecting Abu Dhabi and Boston, Etihad Airways strengthens ties, unlocks travel opportunities, and paves the way for a future of collaboration and progress.
