An Etihad Airways Boeing 777 will visit Minneapolis St. Paul in October, as part of a charter flight the airline will be operating.
At this stage, it is unclear what the reasoning for the charter is, but all will be revealed probably closer to the time.

Etihad Airways Sending The 777 to Minneapolis…
As per data from AeroRoutes.com*, this charter is due to take place in October, with the outbound flight coming in on October 1.
It departs Minneapolis at 1600 local and will arrive in Abu Dhabi at 1435 the next day.
The return, EY8039, will then depart Abu Dhabi at 0130 local, and arrive back in Minneapolis at 0750.
Most of Etihad Airways’ Boeing 777-300ERs seat 28 people in Business and 384 in Economy.

The Airline Is Accessing All Markets…
The airline is doing all it can to access different types of markets, whether it be permanent services or one-off charters.
For the carrier, as well as this charter to Minneapolis, its last big announcement was its plans to extend services to Lisbon from Abu Dhabi.
Etihad Airways initially announced plans to service Lisbon from Abu Dhabi back in February, where it was revealed that services will begin on July 2.
AeroRoutes is now citing a June 18 start date now, which means that there has been substantial demand to the point where they can start services earlier.
In February, Antonoaldo Neves, the CEO of Etihad Airways, had this to say on the route launch:
“We’re excited to introduce flights to Portugal for the first time and provide our guests with convenient travel options to one of the most popular summer destinations for 2023″.
“As one of the oldest cities in Western Europe, the coastal city of Lisbon is a great entry point to exploring the rest of the country, with perfect beaches, historic castles, fantastic nightlife, and warm and welcoming people.
“Our new direct connection will enhance the trade and tourism ties between the UAE and Portugal, and we are grateful for the support of the Portuguese authorities in establishing our new air link.”
However, looking ahead to the Minneapolis flight, it will be interesting to see if more will be added in due course, dependent on the type of flight it actually is.
