LONDON – Etihad Airways has recently announced the appointment of their new Chief Revenue Officer, Arik De.
Arik De has previously served as the Vice President of Revenue & Commerce in the airline, a position in which he was responsible for revenue management and e-commerce.
With a wide history and 20 years of experience, Arik De is sure to become a great player on this team.
The new position
On January 4, UAE carrier Etihad Airways announced Arik De would be serving as the airlines’ Chief Revenue Officer in the time forward as he has been appointed to the position.
As mentioned, Arik De has been in service at Etihad Airways as their Vice President of Revenue & Commerce, a position in which he has been since April of 2022.
On the appointment, Etihad Airways CEO Antonaldo Neves, commented: “With the world quickly returning to pre-Covid levels of travel, we have a unique opportunity to build on and strengthen our leading position at Etihad Airways.”
“Our new Revenue division will deliver state-of-the-art revenue management capabilities, broaden our airline partnerships and enhance our network to better serve our guests and our home of Abu Dhabi.”
“Arik has had a substantial positive impact on our revenue performance over the past nine months, and I look forward to closely working with him as we build on these interdependent areas, which are critical for financial sustainability.”
De’s history in aviation
Arik De has a great history in aviation, with his career starting over 20 years ago in the International Monetary Fund, and has since gained 15 years of experience in the aviation industry.
Arik De has had leading positions within WestJet, Air Asia and Aeromexico, with the most recent one being TAP Air Portugal, where he acted as the Chief Revenue & Network Officer.

Arik De has of course also given a statement about his newly appointed role, in which he said: “I am excited to take on the Chief Revenue Officer role at a time of such opportunity, as international travel demand kicks into high gear.”

Etihad’s 10 millionth passenger
Just recently, Etihad Airways also celebrated the flight of their 10 millionth passenger.
Flight EY205 was the flight that carried the passenger, which was a flight bound for Abu Dhabi (AUH) from Mumbai (BOM).
To mark the occasion and milestone, the passenger was given a cake along with complimentary roundtrip tickets and a Gold tier membership on Etihad Guest. The passenger also received aircraft models and a Polaroid camera to capture the moment.
Etihad Airways Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Antonoaldo Neves, also commented on the milestone and said the following:
“Thank you to each one of our guests who chose to fly with Etihad Airways and to our team for delivering our award-winning and reliable service day in and day out in 2022. Reaching the 10 million mark is an important milestone for the airline and our entire Etihad family.”
