It is understood that EY18 is the rotation that they have added the superjumbo too, which will add more seat capacity on the route.

The EY18 rotation departs London Heathrow at 2055 local time, and arrives into Abu Dhabi at 0755 local time the next morning.

As for EY17, the return, this flight departs at 1405 local time and lands back into the UK airport at 1810 local time.

Such an upgrade means that the four flights from Etihad Airways will offer a staggering 1,726 seats every day.

The Airbus A380 with Etihad Airways offers 68 Economy Space seats, 70 Business Studios, three Residence suites as well as 337 standard Economy Smart seats.

Ed Fotheringham, the airline’s VP of Global Sales commented on this milestone from London Heathrow:

“Our third A380 on flights to London is great news for our guests.”

“The aircraft adds increased capacity between Abu Dhabi and London Heathrow and is ideally timed to further connect people between the UK, the UAE and onwards across Etihad’s growing global network.”

All eyes will be on how the demand levels are like for this up gauge in flights, and whether there is scope to put the final daily flight on the aircraft too going into the future.
