As part of a strategic partnership move between Air Canada and Emirates, the Canadian flag carrier’s operations will relocate to Dubai International‘s (DXB) Terminal 3, commencing from July 26th.

This move to co-locate their operations in one of the world’s premier terminals is expected to greatly enhance the connecting experience for customers and further highlight the benefits of the partnership established between the two airlines in November 2022.

Seamless travel

Customers transiting in Dubai between the Americas on Air Canada and various destinations across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and Africa on Emirates will now enjoy a seamless and expedited experience with the convenience of remaining in the same terminal.

This collaboration between Air Canada and Emirates aims to provide travelers with smoother connections and improved travel experiences.

Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, Adnan Kazim, welcomed Air Canada to Emirates Terminal 3, considering it as another significant step forward in their strategic partnership.

With both airlines now co-located at T3, Air Canada customers can enjoy a smooth connection when transiting in Dubai onto Emirates’ extensive global network.

Air Canada’s new home in Dubai

Mark Galardo, Executive Vice President Network & Revenue Planning at Air Canada, emphasized the importance of this milestone in the partnership between Emirates and Air Canada.

The relocation of Air Canada’s operations to Terminal 3 not only benefits customers with seamless onward connections but also elevates their experience throughout the airport journey.

The move allows Air Canada passengers to benefit from codeshare and frequent flyer partnership with Emirates, extending connectivity to various destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Indian subcontinent.

Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports, also supported the move in welcoming Air Canada to Terminal 3. The partnership between Dubai Airports and Air Canada aims to consistently deliver exceptional service and exceed guest satisfaction.

Terminal 3, designed to cater to the evolving needs of modern travelers, features biometric touchpoints, spacious waiting areas, and a wide variety of dining and shopping outlets, all of which contribute to an optimized airport experience.

Flight schedule and facilities

The first inbound Air Canada flight is scheduled to arrive at Terminal 3 on July 26th, with the first outbound flight to Toronto departing from Dubai on July 27th.

Passengers flying Signature Class will have dedicated check-in and bag drop counters at the First & Business Class Dropoff, while Premium Economy and Economy passengers can access the main entrance.

Air Canada Signature Class customers and eligible Aeroplan Elite members will also enjoy access to the Emirates Business Class lounge located in Terminal 3.

Expanding the partnership

Since November 2022, both airlines have continually expanded their codeshare relationship, enhanced their interline agreement, developed a reciprocal loyalty partnership for customers to earn and redeem points, and increased capacity into their respective hubs.

Air Canada has also forged a partnership with Emirates’ sister airline, flydubai, further strengthening their network and offering additional travel options.

Emirates launched its daily Boeing 777 service between Montreal and Dubai, complementing its expanded daily Airbus A380 schedule between Toronto and Dubai.

Air Canada is set to begin its new non-stop four times weekly flights between Dubai and Vancouver on October 30, 2023, using its flagship Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, which will complement its existing daily service between Toronto and Dubai.

Both Aeroplan and Skywards members can collect and redeem points when traveling with Air Canada or Emirates, while eligible customers enjoy priority check-in, priority boarding, and access to airport lounges.
