Emirates Restores its Phnom Penh Flight Services

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, has touched down again in Phnom Penh with a daily scheduled flight via Singapore.

This exciting addition expands Emirates’ Far East network to a total of 21 destinations and increases their Singapore operations to four daily flights.

To celebrate the new service from Singapore, Emirates hosted a cake-cutting ceremony in their dedicated Airport Lounge.

Distinguished guests included His Excellency Jamal Abdulla Mohammed Bin Abdulwahab AlSuwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Singapore; Vy. Samdy, First Secretary of the Cambodian Embassy in Singapore; and Steven Ler, President of the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS).

A Warm Welcome in Phnom Penh

The inaugural flight, EK348, landed at Phnom Penh International Airport on May 1st. A traditional Cambodian dance performance greeted the arrival of the Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, configured with three comfortable cabins – First, Business, and Economy.

A high-level Emirates delegation, accompanied by international media, received a warm welcome from His Excellency Dr Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, and Cyril Girot, Chief Executive Officer of Cambodia Airports.

Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President, Passenger Sales and Country Management, expressed Emirates’ enthusiasm for the resumed Phnom Penh service.

“Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage and thriving economy make it a highly attractive destination for both leisure and business travelers.”

“We’re delighted to reconnect this unique gateway to our extensive Far East network. The linked services between Singapore and Phnom Penh will further support trade and business movements between these regional hubs.”

“We are grateful to the Cambodian authorities for their support in facilitating our return to Phnom Penh.”

Rebuilding Connections, Building Business

Cyril Girot, Chief Executive Officer of Cambodia Airports, echoed the positive sentiment. “Phnom Penh International Airport is thrilled to rebuild its international route network with Emirates’ reconnection to Cambodia’s capital city.”

This is excellent news for passengers, who will benefit from increased access to inbound and outbound travel options, ultimately enhancing their journey experience.”

Flight Scheduling

Outbound:

  • EK348 departs Dubai at 02:30 AM and arrives in Singapore at 2:05 PM
  • Departs Singapore at 3:35 PM and arrives in Phnom Penh at 4:35 PM

Return:

  • EK349 departs Phnom Penh at 8:50 PM and arrives in Singapore at 11:50 PM
  • Departs Singapore at 1:40 AM the next day and arrives in Dubai at 4:55 AM

Emirates SkyCargo

Over the past two years, Emirates SkyCargo has played a vital role in connecting Cambodia to the world. Through road feeder services and interline partnerships, they’ve handled over 2,420 tonnes of cargo to and from Phnom Penh.

With the launch of the daily passenger flight, Emirates SkyCargo will streamline operations. It will significantly strengthen trade links between Cambodia and the global market.

This will translates to an effective capacity of 300 tonnes per week. The carrier will then transport cargo to key markets like the UAE, USA, Canada, Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.
