Emirates becomes official airline of King Salman Club Cup 2023

Emirates has officially signed on as the Main Sponsor and Official Airline of the King Salman Club Cup 2023. This partnership aligns with Emirates’ commitment to supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to establish the country as a global hub for professional sports.

The deal not only reinforces the airline’s dedication to engaging with fans but also highlights its role in connecting with the fanbase of the 16 top-tier regional clubs from across the Arab World participating in this prestigious tournament.

The announcement was made during a press conference in Jeddah, marking an exciting development for both Emirates and the tournament.

Jabr Al-Azeeby, Vice President Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Emirates Airline, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and highlighted Emirates’ involvement in the sport of football. He emphasized the airline’s commitment to going beyond mere logo recognition and actively engaging with fans across new football frontiers.

By supporting the King Salman Cup 2023, Emirates aims to contribute to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ambition of becoming a global powerhouse for professional sports.

With Saudi Arabia already making a mark on the global stage in various sports, this tournament represents a significant step toward expanding sports further in the country.

Throughout the tournament, Emirates aims to create unique opportunities and experiences for fans while collaborating with top-tier clubs from across the Arab World.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Saeed Aldalac, Vice President of the Saudi Sports Ministry, welcomed the partnership and expressed confidence that it would greatly enhance the championship.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Emirates will enjoy extensive in-stadium brand visibility across multiple touchpoints, including on-site advertising at the King Salman Cup.

The tournament, which commences on 27 July and runs through 12 August, will take place in stadiums located in Abha, Albaha, and Ta’if. Additionally, the airline will receive on-site promotional opportunities and hospitality rights.

Moreover, Emirates will benefit from digital rights on the tournament channels and will have the privilege of leading the trophy presentation during the final match.

Official club championship in 30th Season


The King Salman Cup 2023, now in its 30th season, serves as the Arab World’s official club championship and is organized by the Union of Arab Football Associations (UAFA).

The tournament will witness 16 clubs from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and North Africa compete in 31 matches, all vying for the coveted title of champions. The final match is scheduled to be held at The King Fahed Stadium in Ta’if.

A total of USD $10 million in prize money will be awarded during the tournament. Renowned clubs such as Al Hilal and Al Nasr from Saudi Arabia, as well as Al Zamalek, Al Wihda, Kuwait Club, Al Rajaa (reigning champions), Shabab Bluzad, and others from across the region, will showcase their talent and determination.

Emirates involvement in sport sponsorship


Emirates’ involvement in football goes beyond this sponsorship, as the sport remains one of the most celebrated in the airline’s sponsorship portfolio.

The airline maintains partnerships with leading European and international clubs, including AC Milan, Real Madrid, Benfica SL, Arsenal FC, and Olympique Lyonnaise.

It also serves as the Title Sponsor of The Emirates FA Cup. Recently, Emirates signed a sponsorship agreement with Etoile Sportive du Sahel, a highly decorated football and basketball sports club in Tunisia.

Furthermore, Emirates supports the Arabian Pro-League in the UAE and the Asian Football Confederation.

Emirates Saudi operations


Emirates has been operating flights to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since 1989 and currently serves Riyadh, Jeddah, Medina, and Dammam with 67 weekly flights.

The airline’s ongoing commitment to the Kingdom is evident through its continuous efforts to meet growing passenger demand and enhance the customer experience.
