Embraer has achieved a further milestone with the type certification of its E190-E2 and E195-E2 by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).
With the certification now secured, Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is due to operate the E190-E2 regional jet from 2024.
Quietest in the World
Embraer’s E190-E2 and E195-E2 proudly hold the title of the world’s quietest single-aisle aircraft. This achievement not only caters to the growing demand for eco-friendly air travel but also positions these aircraft as leaders in reducing noise pollution.
Beyond their remarkable silence, the E190-E2 and E195-E2 boast unparalleled fuel efficiency. In a world where environmental consciousness is paramount, these aircraft are a testament to Embraer’s commitment to sustainable aviation practices.
Certification by Key Authorities
Embraer’s commitment to excellence is underscored by the certifications obtained from three pivotal civil aviation authorities.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the USA, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and the National Civil Aviation Agency of Brazil (ANAC) bestowed their approval in 2018 and 2019, solidifying the E190-E2 and E195-E2 with growing global regulatory recognition.
Scoot’s Leap into the Future
Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, is gearing up to introduce the E190-E2 into its fleet come 2024.
This strategic move to the next-generation regional aircraft not only aligns with Scoot’s vision for a modern and efficient fleet but also positions them as pioneers in embracing cutting-edge aviation technology in the region.
Leslie Thng, Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer, expresses enthusiasm about the CAAS certification, labeling it a monumental achievement for Scoot.
Thng sees the E190-E2 and E195-E2 as catalysts for expanded travel opportunities, underlining Scoot’s commitment to enhancing connectivity in Asia and fostering Singapore as a hub for regional travel.
Maturity Meets Modernity
Embraer’s engineering prowess is evident in the design philosophy behind the E190-E2 and E195-E2.
Drawing from 20 million hours of experience gained by the first generation of E-Jets, these aircraft strike a harmonious balance between modern advancements and the proven reliability of their predecessors.
This fusion of maturity and innovation positions the E2 aircraft as frontrunners in the highly competitive commercial aviation industry.
Simulator and Training Program in Singapore
Embraer’s commitment to elevating the aviation landscape extends beyond aircraft design. In collaboration with CAE, Embraer has announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art E2 full flight simulator and pilot training program in Singapore.
Set to commence operations by the end of this year, this initiative underscores Embraer’s dedication to ensuring that pilots are well-equipped to handle the advanced features of the E190-E2 and E195-E2.
