Commenting on the delivery of this particular milestone from Seattle to Tel Aviv was Dina Ben Tal Gananacia, the CEO of El Al:

“The historic arrival of our first jet using SAF marks another important milestone in our strategic plan – expanding and renewing our fleet and strengthening our commitment to sustainability.”

“We are grateful to Boeing for our long-term partnership, which has helped us provide our customers with the safest and most enjoyable travel experience.”

El Al has been focusing a lot on sustainability in recent months, with the Tel Aviv-based carrier joining the IATA Environmental Assessment Program back in June.

The use of SAF is going to be a key theme for El Al in its fight for reduced emissions on its flights across the globe and close to home.

Looking ahead, it will be interesting to see what other initiatives the carrier will carry out, especially if they align with the industry goal of being net zero by 2050.
