easyJet Revives Newcastle – Alicante Flights

This week it has been revealed that easyJet has revived its route between Newcastle, UK and Alicante in Spain.

This article will cover the details surrounding easyJet’s restart of its route between Newcastle and Alicante. As well as the low-cost carriers (LCC) operations on the route.

April 2, 2024, marked the restart of easyJet’s Newcastle to Alicante service. The route will be operated on a twice weekly basis on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

  • Flight U25517 on Tuesdays departs Alicante Airport (ALC) at 17:20 p.m. and arrives into Newcastle Airport (NCL) at 19:25 p.m.
  • Flight U25517 on Saturdays departs Alicante Airport (ALC) at 17:40 p.m. and arrives into Newcastle Airport (NCL) at 19:45 p.m.
  • Flight U25516 on Tuesdays departs Newcastle Airport (NCL) at 20:00 p.m. and arrives into Alicante Airport (ALC) at 23:55 p.m.
  • Flight U25516 on Saturdays departs Newcastle Airport (NCL) at 20:20 p.m. and arrives into Alicante Airport (ALC) at 00:15 a.m.

The route is operated using easyJet’s Europe arm with their Airbus A319s. The Europe arm of the carrier has 35 Airbus A319s, all with 156 Economy class seats.

The route will be operated throughout the summer season until the end of October. Additionally, the carrier’s year-round flights to Belfast and Bristol, also, five weekly services to Palma de Mallorca during the summer and one weekly during the winter to Geneva.

Lastly, easyJet’s route to Amsterdam will restart this year, which will commence from September 5, 2024. It will operate on Thursdays and Sundays as a year-round service.

Commenting on the restart of the Alicante route, Newcastle Airport’s Director of Aviation Development, Leon McQuaid, says, “I’m delighted to see easyJet begin operating flights to Alicante from Newcastle International Airport, providing passengers with even more choice to one of our most popular destinations.”

“Alicante offers something for everyone, from miles of clean, sandy Mediterranean beaches to local historic landmarks and Alicante’s Old Town district – you certainly won’t be bored on a visit to this Spanish gem.”

Adding to McQuaid’s comments, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Ali Gayward, adds, “We’re delighted to be relaunching our route from Newcastle to Alicante offering even more choice and connectivity to our customers in the North East travelling to Spain’s sunny coast this summer.”
