easyJet will be operating the following four new flights from the UK to the Alps:

  • London Southend to Grenoble – Launching January 14, 2024 on a once-weekly basis.
  • Birmingham to Salzburg – Launching January 13, 2024 on a once-weekly basis.
  • London Stansted to Zurich – Launching December 16, 2023 on a twice-weekly basis.
  • London Stansted to Geneva – Launching December 16, 2023 on a twice-weekly basis.

Commenting on the new route launches was Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager:

“We’re delighted to be launching even more new routes and holidays from our airports across the UK to a range of fantastic destinations, providing even more choice for our customers this winter who are looking to visit the Alps region whether that’s for skiing and other winter sports, or soaking in the culture and we can’t wait to welcome more customers on board.”

Looking ahead, it remains clear that the demand is there for the Winter 2023/24 season.

For example, Ryanair announced earlier this week that it would be adding an extra 1.6m seats across 660 of its routes for the Christmas period.

What will be interesting is to see how long the pent-up demand from the Summer will spread into the Winter seasons, especially with that period being a time where things are less busy, but airlines are opening and upgrading new routes.

Let’s keep an eye out on this moving forward.
