From Miami, more flights will be added to Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, New York JFK & LGA as well as Orlando with Delta Air Lines.

On top of this, a new route to Washington DCA, which launched last month, is providing an additional 1,300 seats per day alone.

Luciano Macagno, Delta Air Lines’ Managing Director for Latin America, the Caribbean and South Florida had this to say:

“Delta is serious about its presence in Miami and across South Florida, and we’re demonstrating that through new partnerships and network enhancements, a best-in-class experience for customers at the airport, and heartfelt community involvement and investment in the community”.

“We are eagerly awaiting what the next year holds.”

Miami and South Florida has been a major focus for Delta Air Lines over the last 12 months, especially on the partnership front too.

An additional 13 cities around the globe are also served through codesharing and partner agreements with the likes of Aeromexico, Air France-KLM, LATAM & Virgin Atlantic.

Back in October, the airline celebrated it’s one-year anniversary of it’s alliance with LATAM, which have included new services to Medellin amongst others.

Within their arrangements globally, Delta and it’s joint venture partners now serve seven of the top 10 international destinations from Miami.

Looking ahead, all eyes will be on the carrier to see how much further they intend to boost travel out of the South Florida area.
